Why I Chose BA(JMC)?

Being a final year BA(JMC) student from the most reputed Journalism and Mass Communication College in Delhi- NCR, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS), Pitampura, I would like to share my journey with you.

Started With Confusion

Like any other student who has completed their 10+2 and is looking for suitable courses and colleges, my journey began with confusion. But unlike most students who take all kinds of exams and then take whatever destiny throws their way, I decided to pave my own path. 

Initially, my sole purpose was to get a degree that could land me a high-paying job. With time, I gradually started believing that fame is more potent than a large sum of money. With this evolvement in my attitude, I started searching for a course that could guide me to become a personality from a person.

After tremendous Google searches and newspaper surveillance, using all sorts of keywords together, from the highest paid, most admired, self-branding focused to the most awarded professional degrees, one name kept popping up. Yeah, you guessed it right. BA(JMC). 

Turned Into Excitement

A single name pops up after every search I make; that is no coincidence. I decided to give it a try. Woah!! This is an infinite field. I was amazed to find the vastness of this course. It is absolutely everything around us. 

From news, newspapers, magazines, books, websites, social media, ads, posters, pamphlets, global relations, event management, research, radio, television, management, production, and the list is endless. You may start from anywhere you want, but you will like to learn these subjects for survival in the modern era. 

Turned Into Determination

After diving so deep into the scope of the subject, I wanted to dive deeper and blend myself into it. A wish to experience all these areas developed in me. I realized this course is not merely a business or a computer course. It is something that drives you from within. It is everything that people use to rise up from the ordinary. To become a Brand. 

It did not take me longer than a day to gain a determination. Now, a question arose. 

Confusion Returns

BJ (Bachelor of Journalism), BJMC (Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication), or BA(JMC) (Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication)? And which college should I turn to? It took me 2 weeks straight to find these answers. However, you don't need to wait that long as you have me. I will tell you the fundamental difference between BJ, BJMC, and BA(JMC), their pros and cons, and why I chose BA(JMC) over BJMC and BJ.
